To The Same Flower

This is not as powerful a poem as the first one on the celandine. It
operates rhetorically in a similar way, namely in the simplest kind of direct
address to the object, the celandine; as in the first poem, the poet keeps his
eye steadily on his object, avoiding the second dimension of figurative
language. There is personification in both poems, but the power of the
