JULES VERNE went round the world in 80 days - and now Emmanuel Petit has conquered it in only 70.

Just ten weeks ago, Petit was galloping around Highbury, that trademark ponytail flapping like a Scottish goalkeeper, as Arsenal paraded the Premiership trophy.

Since then his laps of honour have included a trot round the dog track at Wembley with FA Cup and now, for the jewel in his crown, he has claimed a slice of the World Cup for North London, too.
