Jul. 1--Mark Twain -- a name that's almost as prominent on Kansas City's banking scene as the name Tom Sawyer is on Missouri's literary scene -- soon will disappear.
On the weekend of July 12-13, Mark Twain Kansas City Bank will be subsumed by Mercantile Bank. Not only will the Mark Twain name disappear locally, but so will eight Mark Twain and Mercantile locations, including Mark Twain's downtown office.
