This is the Sabbath to deal with two vicious rumors. One, alas, is true. A century ago, the Denver Public Library did ban Mark Twain. But, now it honoring him, as does the new Ken Burns' TV program and book.
The other shocker concerns idle speculation that the first place Dr. Colorado stops, in his meandering around the Highest State, is a saloon. This is simply not true.
I stop in the local library first.
This is because the reference librarian usually can guide me to the best old-time local saloon.
