Mark Twain Elementary School is Barbara Nagel's home away from home.
For more than four decades, the former kindergarten teacher has walked through the school's halls, greeting students and colleagues. She thought she said goodbye to the school upon her retirement in 2000, but it wasn't easy leaving 38 years of memories behind.
"I went back as a substitute because I missed teaching and I missed the school," Ms. Nagel said. "I go back, I eat the lunch, I visit with the students, I socialize with the teachers. That's home to me."
