ST. LOUIS _ The U.S. Forest Service is warning visitors to watch their step in the Mark Twain National Forest, where in recent years authorities say they have found more methamphetamine labs than in any other public land in the country.
Forest Service officials fear clandestine meth labs and so-called meth cooks pose a deadly risk to rangers and visitors in the 1.5 million-acre forest. Washington commanders of the drug war think drug makers' success there could lead to an explosion of meth production on other sparsely policed federal lands.
