LONG BEACH - Visitors at the Mark Twain Branch Library read and worked Tuesday for the last time at the 1325 E. Anaheim St. location.
The library is closing until Aug. 11, when it will reopen in its new location directly across the street at 1401 E. Anaheim St., between Gundry and Peterson avenues.
The library had been occupying a "temporary" location at a Long Beach Parks and Recreation building at MacArthur Park since 1958.
"It's very much needed in this community," adult services librarian Antonia Herrera said. "There will be more computers and a larger facility."
