Chapter 35. Dark, Deep-Laid Plans

Huck and Tom discuss the plans to dig Jim out of the hut he's locked in.
They could easily tear the lock off the door, but Tom wants something more
exciting. Huck keeps suggesting quick and easy ways of getting Jim loose, but
Tom won't hear of it. He says these methods are too "unregular." Huck must
steal a sheet to make a rope ladder (even though there's nothing Jim can
possibly climb); he must steal a shirt so Jim can keep a diary in his own
blood (even though Jim can't write); he must ...
