For Hal Holbrook, legendary author Mark Twain is more than an interest - he's a lifework.
In spite of the 30 movie credits to his name and the variety of characters he has played on stage, Holbrook is best known for his role as Twain, one he has held for nearly 50 years.
Holbrook, 78, is the force behind the one-man, two-act show "Mark Twain Tonight!" coming Tuesday to the Madison Civic Center. He drew inspiration for the production from the speaking tours Twain conducted near the end of his life.
