This is hardly breaking news about the author of, say, "Anna Karenina" and "War and Peace." But Tolstoy, the playwright?

Thanks to the archivist buccaneers at the tiny but mighty Mint Theater Company, we have been introduced to the creator of "The Power of Darkness." This thoroughly engrossing and intimate monster of a peasant drama has only been produced in New York three times -- the first in Yiddish in 1904.
