Henry David Thoreau would have been amazed at the work of the Walden Woods Project and the Thoreau Society. Here are two groups dedicated to spreading the essayist's philosophy of a life close to nature. Yet they are using every tool of modern communication, from the rock show to the Internet. And they have accomplished much since the Walden Woods Project was founded in 1990.
