Henry David Thoreau wrote, "Of all the characters I have known, perhaps Walden wears best."

Yesterday, members of the Thoreau Society sponsored a public forum to discuss the way Walden has worn in recent decades.

On the 170th anniversary of Thoreau's birth, members of the Walden Forever Wild Committee and officials from the state Department of Environmental Management joined Thoreau Society members at the First Parish Church of Concord to discuss the future development of Walden Pond.
