AL MURRAY (Al Murray's Showbiz Fights, Ch4, 10.50pm) After studying history at Oxford, Al started his career writing for comedy shows such as Week Ending and Spitting Image. He then supported Frank Skinner on his 1992 world tour, with an act based on sound effects.
He and his Australian wife, Amber, have a six-year-old daughter, Scarlet, and a two-year-old called Willow.
In 1994, he compered Harry Hill's Pub Internationale show at Edinburgh, and the Landlord was born.
Al is the great-great-great-grandson of Vanity Fair author William Makepeace Thackeray.
