Pub landlords are having a hard time of it lately, but here's something to cheer them up. The Guv'nor, comedian Al Murray, right, is coming to Plymouth Pavilions next year, and tickets are now on sale.
Al's comic persona, the Pub Landlord, dates from the days when he did his stand-up comedy in a pub, pretending it was his 'boozer'.
In reality, his comes from a privileged background. His father was a Lieutenant-Colonel, he studied history at Oxford and he is a descendant of the author William Makepeace Thackeray.
