Casting Reese Witherspoon in the role of Becky Sharp in "Vanity Fair" makes perfect sense.

Dear Becky, after all, managed to climb her way into British society despite her lowly stature as the daughter of a starving artist and a chorus girl; Witherspoon managed to climb to the peak of Hollywood's A-list despite her petite stature and good looks that are closer to the school homecoming queen than creatures like Cameron Diaz or Charlize Theron, who possess society's near impossible standard of beauty.
