COMEDIAN Al Murray's inspired creation, the lager slurping, foreigner-baiting Pub Landlord, would not appear to have much in common with William Makepeace Thackeray, but the novelist is Murray's great great great-grandfather, and the Oxford-educated comic claims he and his ancestor share a flair for social satire.
