Greenberg in 1961 and revised in 1970, was enormously useful--along with A Casebook on Gulliver among the Houyhnhnms, edited by Milton P. Foster (1961)--when I first taught Swift in 1966, and had to figure out just how to make sense of Swift's deliberately vexing text. Albert J. Rivero's completely new Norton Critical Edition is a major improvement over the earlier version, a book that should be useful both as a text in college ...
