Chapter V
Gulliver formulates a plan for seizing the entire Blefuscudian fleet.
Blefuscu lies north-north-east of Lilliput, separated by about eight hundred
yards of water from her enemy. After determining that the water is only
seventy glumgluffs deep at its deepest (about six feet) Gulliver calls for a
great quantity of cable and iron bars (the cable was the thickness of
packthread, the bars as big as knitting needles) from which he fashions hooks
