Author to talk about stowe book

MARSHFIELD - Philip McFarland will talk about his new book, "The Loves of Harriet Beecher Stowe," at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the 1699 Winslow House, 634 Careswell St.

A book signing will follow.

Stowe, the author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," was the best-known member of the Beecher family.

McFarland's book is a snapshot of antebellum Northern society and delves into the private lives of the Beecher clan.

Tickets are $7 per person. Light refreshments will be served.
