Noley Thornton is a freckle-faced, curly-haired, 10-year-old charmer. But she's no Shirley Temple. Thank goodness.

Thornton is, however, a perfectly respectable Heidi. Somehow, with her pixie face and air of serious, wide-eyed curiosity, she manages to be cute, lovable and endearing but never cloying. You can understand why the grouchy old gramps would want her around.
