TRACY -- Bend but don't break.

That was the philosophy of the Tracy defense that allowed Downey two trips inside the Bulldogs 10-yard nine but no points in a 20-0 Tracy victory Thursday in a non-conference freshman game at Peter B. Kyne Field.

"We only had the ball two times in the first half," Tracy coach Jay Fishburn said. "That was kind of frustrating.

"The second half we came out and two scores, and then we were able to get everyone in the game."
