TRACY -- Mark Stroup understood what was at stake Friday night.

His Tracy High football team had a chance to turn the corner.

Waiting around the bend was Downey High.

The Bulldogs not only turned the corner, they accelerated through the turn, dominating from the start in a 41-7 non-league win over the Knights at Peter B. Kyne Field.

The win lifted the Bulldogs, who have shown remarkable progress over last year's dismal 1-9 campaign, to 2-2.
