TRACY -- Drew McAllister, Nic Quade and Ryan Whalen put up the big numbers and Brandon Sweeney added the style points, helping Monte Vista to a 17-7 over West in Friday night's highly anticipated showdown at Tracy High's Peter B. Kyne Field.
McAllister was 16-of-23 for 183 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, Quade carried 31 times for 129 yards, and Whalen finished with 10 receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown.
But it was Sweeney -- who had five catches for 60 yards -- with the night's highlight-reel play in a crucial situation late in the game.
