TRACY -- Although the two schools are no longer league rivals, the Tracy and West freshman teams battled Thursday with the Bulldogs winning round one of the Crosstown Classic 20-6 at Peter B. Kyne Field.

The two teams will square off again in two weeks.

"We played well," Tracy coach Dave Brown said. "This was their first experience in a Tracy-West game, and they found out just how exciting it can be.

"We work hard on our running game, and that is what we do -- it is our bread and butter."
