West reaches final in stunner

TRACY -- Anyone whose watched West High football this year was prepared for just about anything on Friday night.

Except this.

The Wolf Pack stunned St. Mary's, forcing eight turnovers while cruising to a berth in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I title game with a 42-14 blowout at Peter B. Kyne Field.

West will play the winner of today's Grant-Nevada Union semifinal next Saturday at the University of the Pacific.

The West defense, needing to make a statement after its first meeting with St. Mary's, did so on the game's first possession.
