West holds on to claim title

TRACY -- This one lived up to the hype, and then some.

Jonathon Grebe's late interception for West led to a 7-yard touchdown pass from Sana Sausau to Garrett Andrews with 7:36 to play, and the Wolf Pack held on to beat St. Mary's 17-14 to win the first Tri-City Athletic League championship on Friday at Peter B. Kyne Field.

West opened the second half with a 73-yard scoring drive that gave the Wolf Pack (8-2, 4-0 TCAL) a 10-0 lead.

But a St. Mary's offense that produced just 40 yards in the first half made some adjustments and went to work.
