TRACY -- One play after recovering a fumble, West's Sergio Alvarez executed a play-action pass perfectly and spotted Da'Marea Fort in the end zone with 3:37 left in the game for a 10-7 lead over Deer Valley that would hold up the rest of the way for the Wolf Pack sophomores Friday at Peter B. Kyne Field.

"We hung together," West coach Tom O'Hara said. "Even though our stats are going to be terrible, we got 10 points on the board, and that is what matters."

Solveig Barnes got the Wolf Pack on the board with 2:39 remaining in the first quarter with a 28-yard field goal for a 3-0 West lead.
