MET Commissioner Sir John Stevens has been ordered to report to Home Secretary David Blunkett and explain why children at Damilola Taylor's school are still being menaced by gangs of youths.
In an extraordinary intervention, Mr Blunkett has told teachers and pupils at Oliver Goldsmith School that he will bring the full weight of the Government to bear on tackling the gangs and antisocial behaviour on estates in Peckham.
