Damilola teacher attacks politicians for failure to act

DAMILOLA TAYLOR'S teacher today launched a scathing attack on leading politicians who he says have abandoned the area now the massive publicity surrounding the 10-year-old's murder has subsided.

Home Secretary Jack Straw was among the high profile politicians from all parties who visited Oliver Goldsmith School in Peckham in a blaze of publicity in the days immediately after Damilola's killing and pledged to return to discuss children's safety.

Inspired by the visit, and aided by their teacher Ian Bosonnet, Damilola's classmates created a dossier of security suggestions.
