There will be no "Best Films of the Year" from me for 2004 because, frankly, I didn't like anything I saw that much. On the other hand, I didn't hate movies that everyone else seemed to hate, such as Alexander or the new The Phantom of the Opera. Either I'm getting mellow or the hideous showing of Bay Area's sports teams has ground my critical faculties to a pulp.
