More than two decades after its premiere, "The Phantom of the Opera" has racked up some pretty spectacular statistics. The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, based on Gaston Leroux's beauty-and-the beastlike 1911 novel, has been seen by more than 80 million people in 124 cities, with Chicago -- where the show first arrived in 1990 - - now hosting its fifth go-round of the still dazzlingly opulent production.
