The legions who scoff at The Phantom of the Opera were not in evidence on opening night when Lisa Vroman returned to San Francisco, where, for five years, she played innocent love-object Christine to various Phantoms and Raouls. Lucky Christine, this time she has a commanding and sexy Phantom (Brad Little) with a voice that raises goose bumps, and an equally powerful Raoul (Tim Martin Gleason). But their triangular love story, based on Gaston Leroux's ghost story, is only a third of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh's hugely successful production.
