'Phantom' a hauntingly beautiful show

It's easy to see why "Phantom" is Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre's most-requested show.

The powerful portrayals, the fine music and the haunting stage settings make this 2 1/2 -hour show a riveting experience that audience members won't want to see end.

Based on the 1911 novel "Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux, this work by Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit is similar to, but not a clone of, Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical.

Erik (played by Aaron Lake), is a brilliant singer who, due to an appalling disfigurement at birth, wears a mask and lives beneath the stage of the opera house.
