The Wyeth Center's inaugural exhibition, "Wondrous Strange," brings together more than 100 major works from public and private collections throughout the United States. It focuses not only on the three generations of Wyeths, but also on the paintings and influence of N.C. Wyeth's mentor, Howard Pyle.
"Most visitors expect to see landscape paintings and realism," said Lynne Taggart, marketing director of the Farnsworth Museum. "The Wyeths are showing there's much more.... You start to see the imaginative side."
