ART OF DARKNESS
When I learned the Brandywine River Museum was showing "Howard Pyle and the American Renaissance," I was as giddy as a chunky cheerleader on tryouts day. But I left disappointed, trailing my pompoms in the dust of despair. In fact, to switch metaphors as unexpectedly as a savage Josh Koscheck leg shot followed by a cartilage-crushing flurry of fists to the face, my hopes were smashed into the canvas and left involuntarily spasming like a heap of bloodied luchadores after a superbomb neck-breaker combination gone terribly and tragically tits para arriba.
