'TEMPE CARES' TACKLES IMPROVEMENTS AT HISTORIC TEMPE DOUBLE BUTTE CEMETERY

The city of Tempe issued the following news release:

WHO: More than 400 community volunteers, construction contractors and landscapers

WHAT: Volunteers - young and old, big and small - are expected for the 16th annual Tempe Cares workday this year in support of the Arizona Centennial. Event organizers are inviting people to come out and restore the historic character and special nature of Double Butte Cemetery.

Double Butte Cemetery, a part of Tempe's pioneer history, has many famous Tempe residents buried there including Tempe founder Charles Trumbull Hayden and Governor Howard Pyle.
