For 16 years I have been a keen and grateful reader of the English language newspapers coming out of Seoul. Only now I am obliged to to express my feelings of deep joy and gratitude on the occasion of the Hesse exhibition at Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul by writing to you.

Regarding the beautiful collection of small pictures of landscapes, flowers and the like, of handwritten cards, of first editions of Hesse's works, I felt as if I had stepped back into the refined word of Hesse's home in Montagnola, a world which totally disappeared shortly after the death of Ninon Hesse ...
