FORT KENT - Evangeline, the fictional heroine who was immortalized in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's 1755 poem on the deportation of Acadians, will be discussed at Fort Kent next week by an Acadian educator, author and social entrepreneur.
Dr. Barbara Leblanc, born and raised in the Acadian region of Nova Scotia, will discuss "The enduring Spirit of Evangeline" 160 years after Longfellow put her in the hearts of Acadians in his "Evangeline: A tale of Acadie."
