The Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, headquartered in Hawthorne, N.Y., have paid to move the remains of American novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne's wife, Sofia, and his daughter, Una, from London to Hawthorne's grave in Concord, Mass. The author of The Scarlet Letter and The House of the Seven Gables died in 1864 after 22 years of marriage to Sofia, a painter. The order of nuns was founded by Hawthorne's other daughter, Rose.
