Germany's cultural grandees could be in for the shock of their lives this week, and generations of ordinary German adults will be dredging up the half-remembered poems and plays they learned by rote at school to have another think about them.
In his new book, "The Tiger's Tender Touch," in stores this week, author Karl Hugo Pruys declares that Germany's national poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, was gay.
