Claire Danes to make Broadway debut with Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion'

Washington, July 11 -- Claire Danes will debut as Broadway artist when the Roundabout Theater Company stages George Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion' this season, opening on October 18.

The actress will play the lead role of Eliza Doolittle in the David Grindley-directed play.

Tony Award-winner Jefferson Mays will also take on the stage, portraying Henry Higgins.

The producers will begin previews of the play on September 21 at the American Airlines Theater, reports Variety magazine.
