FORT LAUDERDALE -- The powerful one-man theatrical presentation of "Frederick Douglass: A Trumpet or Freedom" raised more than $5,000 for the Literacy Coalition of Broward County.

Held in the intimate setting of the Vinnette Carroll Theatre in Fort Lauderdale and presented by Publix Super Markets Charities, "Frederick Douglass: A Trumpet for Freedom" was performed by local actor and Metropolitan Diversity Theatre Artistic Director Tony Thompson.
