NEW YORK'S BLACK LITERATI turned out recently to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Frederick Douglas Creative Arts Center, a venerable institution in the African American literary, cinematic and theatrical community.

Called the [most valuable] institution in African American literature, the FDCAC has, for three decades, launched and nurtured the careers of hundreds of writers whose works have been published by leading houses and brought to life on the stage, screen and television.
