Historic Site In Danger Of Closing: Home Of Frederick Douglass Needs Funds
To Be Preserved
WASHINGTON -- The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the
nation's leading park advocacy organization, recently named the Frederick
Douglass National Historic Site in Washington, D.C. to its third annual
list of American's Ten Most Endangered Parks.
"We have an opportunity here to preserve the home of Frederick Douglass, an
African American man born into slavery who escaped to freedom and shaped
American history," said NPCA president, Tom Kiernan.
