WCU hosts Frederick Douglass Scholars: West Chester University gives
minority graduate students teaching opportunities
Intellectual thirst spurred the slave Frederick Douglass to find his way
from bondage to freedom and a life as a distinguished orator, journalist,
author and statesman. More than 100 years later, West Chester University of
Pennsylvania's Frederick Douglass Institute seeks to preserve that legacy
as "a window to the world of knowledge."
In keeping with that spirit, the University chose five Frederick Douglass
Teaching Scholars for summer 2001. ...
