Civil War angered Frederick Douglass

When Frederick Douglass, the great African-American orator and
abolitionist, entered the grounds of Camp William Penn in what's now
Cheltenham Township's community of LaMott in July of 1863, he became quite
upset about the discouraging words of a white officer and a very disturbing
sight.
