An announcement was made this week of the three nominees for the 38th
annual Frederick Douglass Awards of the New York Urban League. The awards,
which constitute the highest honor the league bestows, will be presented on
Thursday, May 8, at the Sheraton New York.
This year's recipients of the coveted award are Gerald M. Boyd, managing
editor of The New York Times; Carla A. Harris, a managing director at
Morgan Stanley; and Dennis D. Swanson, executive vice president and chief
operating officer of the Viacom Television Stations Group.
