(Daily Egyptian) (U-WIRE) CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University students in the 101-level courses of English and Speech Communication this fall will be required to read the autobiography of abolitionist Frederick Douglass under curriculum put in place by a departing dean.
Faculty and staff in the College of Liberal Arts on Monday said they are not sure how the text would be implemented into the required courses' prospectus, but were excited about the new project.
