Harmony House chief looks for a new rhythm

Harmony House Records and Tapes Inc. president Bill Thom is looking for a new calling in life after being involved in the company founded by his parents for more than 30 years.

The music-store chain is liquidating inventory and closing all stores.

Thom, 47, wants to get out of retail. Although he lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, he plans to continue to run a Detroit-based foundation established by his parents.
