A message to Garca
Years ago, when I was a boy selling Liberty, Colliers and Saturday Evening
Post nickel magazines, one of my customers gave me a copy of an essay
written by Elbert Hubbard that I remember fondly.
It was aptly titled A Message to Garca.
This is my message to another Garca.
Mr. Gus Garca Candidate for Mayor, City of Austin
Dear Sir:
Congratulations on your announced intent to be a candidate for mayor of
your progressive city.
Your name opens doors to memories long forgotten - it's the same as that of
one of Texas' great-unsung heroes.
